Extended battery time, but short life span.

I bought this battery in March 2009. Up and until recently, now February 2010, the battery has repeatedly failed to maintain a charge. When I first started using the battery, the battery indeed give me extended time with my phone. I would say about a few extra hours. The battery worked great....

Did not recharge more than twice

After the first complete discharge, it did not recharge. After some time in the drawer, it did recharge once more. That was it. Can't comment on battery life with only two experiments, charge level seemed to top at 88% according to battery info app. Maybe a defective item, maybe they skimped on...
